Doug Applegate is scheduled to visit with us for a frank, open discussion of his challenges. There are some negative rumors floating around about him. Let’s bring them all out into the open and discuss.
Club member Rena Marroco will lead discussion around her recent UT article: Sex a factor in city policy changes? which outlines an apparent male power play, resulting in women elected officials being required to get approval from their male counterparts in order to place items on their City Council agendas. This ploy leaves National City council members Mona Rios and Alejandra Sotelo-Solis at the mercy of their male colleagues.
