On Thursday Dec 10, 2015 Human Rights Day, San Diegans turned out for a vigil to show their support for refugees.
Organized by Ramla Sahid, Executive Director of the Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans (and club treasurer), the vigil included addresses from a variety of inter faith leaders, Councilmember David Alvarez, Pedro Rios, Director of San Diego American Friends Service Committee, and Norma Chavez-Peterson of the ACLU.
The media turned out in force to cover the event including San Diego 6 News, CBS 8 News, the Union-Tribune and the San Diego Free Press.
